Officials for American Starlinger-Sahm Inc. at a groundbreaking for the company's new U.S. headquarters.
American Starlinger-Sahm Inc., which sells equipment for woven plastic bag production, PET recycling equipment, sheet extrusion and laminating lines and winders, broke ground Aug. 26 on a 23,000-square-foot North American headquarters in Fountain Inn., S.C., said officials of the Austria based Starlinger and Sahm in Germany.
The operation is currently housed in a 9,000-square-foot building in Greenville, S.C., according to Jimmy Cranford, president of American Starlinger-Sahm. That building was too small to show equipment. But the new North American headquarters will showcase the company’s machinery, as well as an expanded spare parts department, he said.
Company officials think construction will take about nine months. A grand opening is scheduled for late spring of 2015.
“In the new location, Starlinger and Sahm will offer the full range of their products and services,” Cranford said. “Machinery from Starlinger textile packaging, Starlinger recycling technology, Starlinger viscotec and Sahm will be installed and available for demonstration runs and customer trials in our new showroom.”
Visctotec sheet lines makes sheet lines for packaging, including lines that use 100 percent recycled PET.
Starlinger & Co. GmbH is based in Vienna.
Georg Sahm GmbH & Co KG in Eschwege, Germany, makes winders for technical yarns, carbon fiber, foils, adhesive and paper and plastic tapes, and monofilament and multifilament yarns.
American Starlinger-Sahm also represents Roblon twisters, Satake optical sorting equipment and SAB material handling products. The North American operation is owned by Starlinger Export GmbH. |
