An undisclosed major Chinese pipe manufacturer has ordered 25 extruders from German-Austrian company Battenfeld-Cincinnati’s subsidiary, Battenfeld-Cincinnati Extrusion Systems in Foshan, China.
Battenfeld-Cincinnati says it has seen continuous growth in China since it opened its subsidiary 18 years ago to produce extrusion components and extrusion lines. The subsidiary currently employs 180 workers at a 17,800-square-meter facility and contributes about 25 percent to the group’s total sales.
Of the 25 pipe extrusion lines ordered, 14 — which have already been installed — are be equipped with dies to manufacture high density polyethylene pipes with diameters ranging from 125 to 1,600 millimetsrs, says the company.
The remaining 11 lines ordered have also been produced and shipped to the customer, and will, the company states, be installed and commissioned within the next few weeks. They are PVC pipe extrusion lines to manufacture pipes with dimensions between 500 and 1,200 millimeters in diameter.
The Battenfeld-Cincinnati companies in Germany, Austria, the U.S. and China have all worked together to fill the large-scale order, but, the company highlights, the Foshan subsidiary acts completely independently in all other aspects, specializing in customized extrusion solutions for the Chinese market. |
